"Hey Mrs. Carney, what was that scripture passage about money?"

At last week's RAVE, Mrs. Carney gave us a new, God-centered perspective on money.  In case you didn't write all of them down, here are a few of the scripture references she used.

Read them. Study them. Pray them. Live them.

- LOVE of money, not the possession of money, is evil: 1 Timothy 6:7-10, Ecclesiastes 5:10

- Not all wealthy people are wicked: Proverbs 10:22, Proverbs 14:24, Proverbs 14:14, Proverbs 13:24, Genesis 13:2, Proverbs 13:22, Psalm 37:1-3, Psalm 37:21

- Many people strive to gain, accumulate and/or inherit wealth, making it their only focus – and that is not of God: Matthew 6:21

- Some people define themselves by their money and material possessions: 2 Peter 5:2, Hebrews 13:5

- For some people they desire money so badly they pretend to have it – Proverbs 13:7, Proverbs 14:20

- The Lord prefers the poor to the wealthy who are wicked!: Psalm:37:16, Psalm 37:21, Proverbs 13:11, Proverbs 15:17, Proverbs 15:27, Proverbs 15:29, Proverbs 20:17

- Only the Lord can provide us wealth and riches that money cannot buy: Proverbs 30:7-9, Proverbs 22:2, Psalm 119:72, Psalm 85:10
